My take

Raspberry Pi 5 is a general-purpose Arm single-board computer capable of running a full Linux operating system. The 8GB model combines a quad-core Cortex-A76 processor with enough memory for desktop use, development environments, network services, automation and edge-computing workloads.

It supports two 4K displays, high-speed USB peripherals, Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The 40-pin GPIO header, MIPI camera/display connectors and exposed PCIe interface allow it to control electronics, attach sensors and expand into storage, vision, AI, IoT and homelab systems.
